Ernest Pinckney of Indianola, a former resident of the Macksburg community, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He was 65 years of age.
Mr. Pinckney was born July 1, 1896, at Macksburg. He operated the Shatto Foundry at Lorimor for several years, later moving to Creston where he operated a machine shop. In recent years he had operated a machine shop in Indianola.
He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Pinckney; his mother, Mrs. Will Shatto of Beloit, Wisconsin; and a daughter in Missouri.
Funeral services were held Sept. 2 from the Macksburg Methodist church, with burial in Moon cemetery there.
