Charles R. Briggie, 70, of Ohatchee, Ala., died March 27, 2007.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 30, at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Ohatchee with the Revs. Van Lockridge and Whitt Hibbs officiating. Burial was at Presbyterian Cemetery at Oak Bowery.
Charles Briggie was born in Winterset to Irvin Briggie and Louise Briggie Datwyler and was a 1955 graduate of Winterset High School. Charles resided in Winterset until he joined the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, who he meet while stationed at Ft. McClellan; two daughters, Gatha Cardinal and Bonita Colvin; a brother, Bob Briggie and three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
