1934DEATH CALLS TO JASPER MARSTON
Well Known Penn Township Farmer Passed Away Sunday; Funeral at Penn Center Tuesday.
Jasper Marston, prominent Penn Township farmer, passed away at his home Sunday following a stroke. He was 78 years of age and while not in the best of health his condition was not believed serious.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Penn Center Church, conducted by the Pastor Rev. Moore assisted by Rev. Corrie of Waukee, a former pastor. Interment was in the family plot at Penn Center.
OBITUARY
Jasper Everett Marston, son of James Cram and Nancy Maria Marstoun, was born near Postville, in Allamakee County, Iowa, January 12, 1856, and departed this life April 8, 1934.
He grew to manhood on the homestead near Postville in Clayton County, and received his education in the Postville schools, Upper Iowa University and the State Agricultural College at Ames.
On October 11, 1887, he was united in marriage with Susan Waters, of Postville and to this union were born four children; J. Harry, of Mason City; Ruth Myrtle Crawford, of Postville; Theodore W., of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Gale of Earlham.
For two years the family lived at Aurelia, in Cherokee County, Iowa, then moving to Penn township and a year later in 1896 to the present home.

He was homeloving and studious as a young man and a great reader, especially of our national affairs. He had an innate love for all domestic animals, both great and small. He was a kind, loving husband and father, and he had a quiet dignified way of showing his appreciation for any little kindness shown him.
He died as he lived—quietly and peacefully.
The funeral services were held from the Penn Center church Tuesday afternoon with interment in the Penn Center cemetery. Rev. Moore conducted the services, assisted by Rev. C. M. Corrie of Waukee.
