Death Occurred Sunday at Memorial Hospital Here
Julius W. Eckstein, a resident of Madison county for 40 years, died Sunday, Nov. 16, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Eckstein was born at Roanoke, Ill., on Feb. 16, 1875, a son of John and Mary Gehring Eckstein. He was married at Eureka, Ill., on March 16, 1898, to Nettie B. Harris, who survives him.
His life was spent in farming, and for many years had lived in Douglas township of this county.
In addition to his wife; he leaves two sons, Lawrence Eckstein of Macksburg and George Eckstein of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Thorpe of Winterset; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
