W. M. BASS DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Fatally Stricken at Farm Home Here Thursday; Aged 53 Years

William M. (Ted) Bass, member of a well known family in this community, died at his home west of Winterset last Thursday, as a result of a heart attack. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. Bass was a life-long resident of the Winterset community. He was born here Dec. 17, 1904, a son of DeWitt and Mary Smith Bass.

He was married July 5, 1937, to Marjorie Compton of Winterset. They were parents of three daughters and a son, all of whom survive their father.

He was a life-long member of St. Joesph's Catholic church in Winterset.

He leaves his wife; the three daughters, Karen, Rita and Donna; the son, Michael; and three brothers, George, Charles and Gene Bass, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from St. Joseph's Catholic church, with requiem Mass conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John Higgins. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
