MRS. EDA VAUGHAN DIED WEDNESDAY

Death Occurred at Age of 85 Years at Memorial Hospital

Mrs. Eda Vaughan, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died last Wednesday, May 21, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 85 years of age.

Mrs. Vaughan was born in Madison county, a daughter of Charles P. and Martha Ann Gore Weeks. She was married to Matthew W. Vaughan in 1892. With the exception of four years at Newton, her life was spent in Madison county. Her husband preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Winterset Christian church for many years.

Surviving are six children, Lenore Vaughan of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Alice Clark of Peru, Mrs. Agnes Wiley of Waterloo, Arthur Vaughan of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Estella White of Winterset and Willard Vaughan of Roland. One daughter, Emma, died at the age of 16 years. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Funeral services were held from the Anderson home for funerals Friday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
