CHARLOTTE SIMMONS DIES AT 77 YEARS

Death of Life-Long Resident of County Occurs at Memorial Hospital

Mrs. Charlotte E. Simmons, a life-long resident of Madison county, died this Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 77 years of age.

Mrs. Simmons was born at Peru on April 27, 1881, a daughter of Charles E. and Emma L. Foster. Much of her life was spent at Peru, but in recent years her home had been in Winterset.

She was a member of the Christian church.

Her husband, Ora Simmons, died in 1938.

She is survived by two sons, Dale Simmons of Winterset and L. F. Simmons of Yakima, Wash.; a brother, M. C. Foster of Yakima; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. this Friday, conducted by the Rev. Robert Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.
