Life-Long Resident There Had Been Ill Several Months
John A. Potter, a life-long resident of the Patterson community, died at his home there Monday, July 14, after an extended illness. He was 70 years of age.
Mr. Potter was born at Patterson on Sept. 24, 1887, a son of George and Hattie Potter. His life was spent farming in that community. He was a member of the Methodist church there.
He was married Dec. 7, 1910, to Inus Pace of Patterson. She survives him, along with three daughters, Mrs. Betty Welch and Mrs. Lois Estell of Winterset and Mrs. Marcia Augspurger of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Paul Welch and Kay and Peggy Estell; a brother, E. C. Potter of West Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. Earl Norman of Van Meter, Mrs. Letitia Don Carlos of Perry, and Mrs. Everett Quick of Prole.
Funeral services were held from the Patterson Methodist church this Wednesday, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Clifford Pine. Burial was made in Mt. Pelier cemetery.
