MRS. R. A. O'LAUGHLIN DIES IN COLORADO

Winterset Resident for Many Years Died in Denver on New Year's Day

Mrs. Robert A. O'Laughlin, formerly a well known resident of Winterset, died Wednesday, Jan. 1 at Mercy hospital in Denver, Colorado, following a month's illness. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. O'Laughlin was a native of Scotland, where she was born in Glasgow on March 9, 1888. She was the former Margaret Goodwin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Goodwin. Her early life was spent in Des Moines.

She was married Sept. 14, 1915, to Robert A. O'Laughlin of Winterset. They made their home in or near Winterset until 1946, when they moved to Des Moines. In 1954 they moved from Des Moines to Denver.

During her residence at Winterset, Mrs. O'Laughlin was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic church here, serving as choir director for many years.

Survivors include her husband, of Denver; two sons, Robert O'Laughlin, Jr., of Des Moines and Charles E. O'Laughlin of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Nyle Bynam of Denver; and two grandchildren, Patricia and Michael Bynam.

Funeral services were held with requiem Mass from All Saints Catholic church in Denver last Saturday, with the Rev. Harley Schmitt officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery in that city.
