Long-Time Local Resident Buried Friday at Winterset
Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Hill of Winterset were held last Friday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hale, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Hill's death had occurred March 5 at a Winterset nursing home at the age of 84 years. She was a resident of this community most of her life, with the exception of a short time spent in Missouri.
Mrs. Hill was the former Ada Thornburg, daughter of William and Elizabeth Thornburg. She was born here Dec. 29, 1873. She was married Nov. 30, 1893, to Charles Hill. They were parents of one son, Wilbur, who preceded the mother in death. Her husband died in 1936.
She is survived by a nephew, Lawrence Jackson of Missouri, who was reared in her home; a brother, Clarence Thornburg of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Mary Tincher of Hutchison, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
