Former Resident Died at Age of 55 Years Saturday at Mason City

Edna M. Hartsook, member of a well known Lincoln township family, died last Saturday, May 24, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Alvin Ady, in Mason City. She was 55 years of age.

Miss Hartsook was born in the Ord community on Dec. 18, 1902, a daughter of William E. and Anna Hartsook. She attended Winterset high school and graduated with the class of 1919. Later she studied at the conservatory of music at Simpson college in Indianola.

Since 1930 her home had been at Mason City.

She had been a member of the New Hope Christian Union church at Ord since childhood.

She leaves her mother, Mrs. Anna Hartsook; the sister, Mrs. Fern Ady of Mason City; a brother, Lyle Hartsook of Indianola.

Funeral services were held here this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church.

Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
