JAMES W. McCUNE, Former Resident Dies In California

James W. McCune, formerly of Madison county, died at Oakland, Calif., on March 23, 1947, according to word received here this week.

Mr. McCune was a native of Iowa, and was 70 years old at the time of his death. In California he worked as a carpenter, and at one time was business agent for the Richmond local of the Carpenter's union.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary L. McCune; four daughters, Mrs. Maurine Fudy of Piedmont, Calif, Mrs. Marguerite Wheeler and Alice McCune of Burbank, and Mrs. Pauline Dolan of Oakland; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Cathryn Hanrahan of Los Angeles, Mrs. Charley Jones of Indianola and Mrs. Harry Miner of Woodward.

Funeral services were held March 2, with a requiem mass from St. Leo's church at Oakland with burial in St. Mary's cemetery there.
