NEAL D. BANE DIED THURSDAY

Life-Time Resident Died At Age of 49 Years

Neal D. Bane of Winterset died Thursday, May 11, at a Des Moines hospital after several weeks illness. He was 49 years of age.

Mr. Bane was a life-time resident of Madison county. He was born here, Aug. 22, 1911, a son of Jess L. and Florence Utterback Bane. His early life was spent in farming. In recent years he had operated a tavern in Winterset.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Imogene Bane, and their daughter, Marlys, aged 8, of Winterset. He also leaves three children by a previous marriage, Jerry Bane, Mrs. Mary Louise DeVault and Mrs. Barbara Bodwell, all of Winterset; seven grandchildren, his father, Jess Bane; and a brother, Ormel Bane of Van Meter.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
