Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, for Mrs. Verna Marks in the Earlham Methodist church.

Mrs. Marks passed away march 15, 1961 at her home in Earlham at the age of 78 years.

OBITUARY

Verna Pease Marks, a long-time resident of Madison county, was born in Abingdon, Illinois, October 18, 1882 and passed away at her home Wednesday, March 15, 1961. Mrs. Marks was one of five children born to Pelatiah and Mary Ann Pease.

Her early life was spent in teaching country school near Abingdon. On December 21, 1904 she was united in marriage to Arthur Marks. They made their home on a farm near Abingdon. In 1906 they moved to a farm near Earlham living in the rural area for a period of four years. They later moved into town, where she resided for more than fifty years.

She leaves one brother Cecil Pease of Sundance, Wyoming, one sister-in-law Mrs. William Pease of Wichita, Kansas, four nieces and a nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
