MRS. ALICE HARGIN DIED WEDNESDAY

Taylor County Resident for Most of Life Was 74 Years of Age

Mrs. Alice D. Hargin, a resident of Madison county since 1956, died at a nursing home here Wednesday, Nov. 23. She was 74 years of age.

Mrs. Hargin was born in Taylor county July 15, 1886, a daughter of William and Marcia Holbrook Darlington. Seventy years of her life were spent in Taylor county. She moved to Winterset in 1956.

She was married July 4, 1911, to Frank Hargin.

She leaves eight children, Mrs. Mildred Knapp of St. Louis, Mrs. Helen Watts of Winterset, Mrs. Hazel Sullivan and Mrs. Jessie Standing of Omaha, Mrs. Lilla Stephenson of California, Harold Hargin of Cedar Rapids, William Hargin of Oregon, and Arlo Hargin of Omaha; nine grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Dora Seivert of Creston, Mrs. Mary Owens of Clearfield, Mrs. Myrtle Mutt of Creston, Mrs. Bessie Overholser of Eldorado, Kan. and Mrs. Grace Hansell of Clearfield.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Methodist church at Clearfield, in charge of the Rev. Herbert Phillips. Burial was made in the Clearfield cemetery.
