EDWARD BRUCE Dies in Detroit

James Edward Bruce, member of a well known Douglas township family, died June 1, 1947 at Detroit, Mich., at the age of 65 years, where he had lived the last 30 years.

Mr. Bruce was born near Winterset, Jan. 24, 1882, the son of Francis Marion and Harriet Templeman Bruce. Sept. 10, 1918 he was married to Blanche Arvilla Brown, who survives him.

Besides his wife, he leaves four sisters, Lillie B. Niblo, and Annie M. Niblo of Winterset, Della E. Bruce of Long Beach, Calif., Pearl Sage of Ogilvie, Minn., and one brother, Robert W. Bruce of Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services and burial were held there Wednesday, with burial services being conducted by the I.O.O.F. order.
