W. O. Patterson Conducted General Store There For 30 Years
Wilbert O. Patterson, who operated a general store in Truro for 30 years, died last Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Des Moines, where he had lived in recent years.
Mr. Patterson was 82 years of age. He was born in Ohio on Jan. 5, 1887, a son of George and Rachel Patterson. Sixty-five years of his life were spent in Madison county.
As a young man he taught school for a time, before entering business in Truro. He was a member of the Truro Christian church. He was married to the former Beryl Holmes.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Zola Spain of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Dorothea Ford of Des Moines; two sons, Donald Patterson of Oskaloosa and Wendell Patterson of Bloomington, Minn.; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockhart. Burial was made in the Worthing cemetery.
