Charles Martin Pearson, son of David and Tamer Pearson, was born September 29, 1869 near Michelville, Iowa, and departed this life July 22, 1947 at the age of 78 years, nine months and 23 days.
When he was a young man his parents moved to Bear Creek. Later he moved to Des Moines and was in business with his father and older brother. About 1892 he moved to Earlham and entered into hardware business with his older brother. When the business was sold out some years later he worked as a carpenter and painter until his death.
October 15, 1896 he was united in marriage to Addie E. Hill. To this union was born one daughter Eudora. He leaves his devoted wife and daughter and one sister of Grass Valley, California, a brother of Spokane, Washington, besides several nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted husband and father and a loyal neighbor to all.

78-YEAR-OLD MAN KILLED IN FALLCharles M. Pearson, long-time resident of Earlham, died at the Dexter clinic in Dexter Tuesday after falling from a roof he was repairing at the W. A. Lillibridge home in Earlham earlier that day. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Pearson had worked as a carpenter in Earlham for many years, and was well known in that community. He received a fatal brain concussion in the fall from the porch roof, which he was repairing at the Lillibridge residence.
Nearest surviving relatives are his wife; and a daughter, Mrs. George Sole, both of Earlham.
