DEAN McDONALD DIES AT 46 YEARS

Death Occurred Saturday at Boone for Former Local Resident

Dean S. McDonald, a well-known resident of Winterset for many years, died Saturday, March 21, at the Boone county hospital in Boone. He was 46 years of age.

Mr. McDonald was born in Leonard, North Dakota, on May 29, 1912. He was a son of Joseph and Anna Faye Stark McDonald. Much of his life was spent in farming. However, he served as assistant elevator manager at Winterset for three years, then managed an elevator at Napier for two years. Since then he had been farming at Madrid.

He was married at Winterset on May 30, 1941, to Waunetta Rankin, who survives him. He also leaves his father, Joseph McDonald of Winterset; a brother, L. H. McDonald of Bronte, Tex. His mother died in 1956.

Funeral services were held from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset this Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Bush. Burial was made at McDonald Chase cemetery, with Masonic grave-side services.
