Helen Beatrice Hardy

One of the saddest losses experienced by any family during this winter was that of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hardy in the death of their little Helen last Thursday, March 2. The child had been ailing for some time but became alarmingly ill February 21. On the 24th it became unconscious and probably never regained consciousness until the time of its death.

Four physicians were finally consulted, yet could not fully agree upon the exact nature of the child’s trouble. The weight of opinion inclined towards the diagnosis of meningitis. Nothing suggested of done by the doctors seemed to reach the trouble and the child gradually declined to its death.

The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Frederick Donovan, at the home of Burt Hardy Saturday afternoon, March 4. Interment was made at Rock cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts of Murray; Misses Carrie Selby and Neva Hardy of Simpson college; M. A. Selby of Denver; Mrs. Bales of Osceola, and MR. and Mrs. O. E. Hardy, of Minneapolis were here at the time of the baby’s death and stayed to the funeral services.

A host of friends share the grief of these most estimable young people in their great loss.
