OBITUARY

Ruby Davis Ledlie, daughter of John E. and Emma C. Davis, was born at San Marcas, Texas, June 20, 1889. She was the ninth child in a family of twelve children. In the late afternoon of August 12th she slipped quietly away to her permanent home leaving a devoted husband, two daughters, Marianna and Opal, son-in-law, Tom Wood, and three grandchildren, Tommy, Becky and Jimmy, of whom she was very fond.

She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. J. D. Dunlap, Mountainair, New Mexico; Mrs. L. P. Brandt, Perry, Oklahoma; Walter P. Davis, Los Angeles, California, and Karl I. Davis, Los Angeles, California, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family moved to Haskell, Texas, when she was quite small, and her early life and school days were spent there.

The Davis family moved to Lake Arthur, New Mexico, in 1911.

On December 2nd, 1912, she was united in marriage to Chester K. Ledlie. They moved to Iowa and spent several months, then returned to Lake Arthur, New Mexico, which was their home until they returned to Earlham in June 1926.

The Ledlies had been members of the Methodist church in New Mexico, so when they moved to Earlham they affiliated with the local Methodist church. She was a long time member of the Rebekahs.

She will be greatly missed in her home and community.

(Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery)
