JOHN RICKETTS OF BARNEY DIES

Death of Well-Known Man There Occurs at Age of 81 Years

John F. Ricketts, a well known resident of the Barney neighborhood, died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Thursday, Nov. 26 after a prolonged illness. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Ricketts was a native of Polk county, where he was born Sept. 2, 1878, a son of Will and Sarah Ricketts. When he was a small child, his parents moved to Shelbyville, Ind., but they returned to Iowa when he was 10 years old. They settled in Madison county, which had since been his home.

He was married March 8, 1916 to Lucille Gilbert, who survives him. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Fannie Fitzgerald of Truro.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Barney church conducted by the Rev. David Kiser, pastor of Deer Creek chapel. Burial was made in the Barney cemetery.
