MRS. DOW PACE DIES AT AGE OF 74 YEARS

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Dow Pace, aged 74, former Madison county resident, on Saturday, October 24th, of a heart attack, at her home in Santa Monica, California. Mrs. Pace was the former Rose Phillips, the daughter of Hiram and Olvia Walker Phillips. She was born and raised on a farm between Patterson and St. Charles. She was married there to Dow Pace of Patterson, and they have resided in California, for the past thirty years.

She is survived by her husband, their three children, Paul, Mack and Sue and by 5 grandchildren, all of Santa Monica. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Mack Phillips of Cedar Rapids, Walter Phillips of Des Moines, Mrs. Pearl Lishman of Santa Monica, and Mrs. Viola Miller of Utah.

Four of her cousins reside in Madison county, Mrs. Gulle Moore and Mrs. J. H. Pyers of Winterset, and Mrs. Josephine Martin and Walker McCleary of Patterson.

Funeral and burial services for Mrs. Pace were held in Santa Monica, Monday, October 26th.
