LOREN V. RITTER Died On Saturday

Loren V. Ritter, widely known young Winterset business man, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines last Saturday, Feb. 1, 1947, after an illness of several weeks. He was 34 years of age.

Mr. Ritter had been associated with his father,V. M. Ritter, in the Ritter Insurance agency here in recent years. He was chairman of the Madison county chapter of the American Red Cross, and was active in the Republican party, the Methodist church, and lodge circles here.

Mr. Ritter was born at Murray, June 30, 1912, the son of Verne M. and Ada Ritter. He came with his parents to Winterset in 1914, and since then had lived here. He graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1930, and attended Drake university in Des Moines.

He was married Sept. 26, 1941, to Miss Maxine Shorb of Earlham.

Mr. Ritter had been a member of the Methodist church since youth, and took an active part in its affairs. He was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges and the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife; his parents; and a brother, Kenneth Ritter, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. G. L. Hufstader and the Rev. W. A. Samp of Chariton. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
