Margaret Jane Hamner, was born in Madison county, February 26, 1873, where she spent her entire life.
She was married to M. L. Beem, July 9th, 1890. To this union were born five children, four of which have passed on before her. She became a member of the Christian Union church when quite young, and after some years united with the M. E. church at Elm Grove, where she was still a member at the time of her death.
She leaves a husband, one child, her father, and one brother.
The funeral services were held from the home of T. K. Young, on last Sunday morning. Rev. E E. Bennett of the Christian church conducting the services, after which the remains were taken to the Elm Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Jane Beam, wife of Lafe Beam, died at the home of T. K. Young in this city Saturday morning at two o’clock. The funeral was held from the house at nine a.m. Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Bennett, and the interment took place at the King cemetery southwest of town.
