Mrs. Elizabeth Bole Braden

Elizabeth Garvin, daughter of Andrew and Eliza Garvin, was born in County Arma Ireland, March 17, 1862 and went to meet her Lord on December 6, 1930.

She was married in 1888 to Thomas Bole. To them were born four children: Ida, Rebina, Thomas, and little Miriam who went to heaven in infancy. These family ties were broken by the death of Mr. Bole in 1895. Several years later she married Mr. Brooks Braden. To them one daughter, Lettie, was born. Mr. Braden also preceded her in death in January 1924.

She early accepted Christ as her Saviour and earnestly endeavored to serve Him faithfully. She was a lifelong member of The United Presbyterian Church, being connected with the Winterset congregation for many years.

She was a devoted and faithful mother. She was greatly beloved by all her children and thru her five years of illness they did every thing loving hands could do till Jesus called her into glory. “None knew her but to love her.”

She leaves to lovingly cherish her memory, four children: Mrs. Ida Stalcoup of Lorimor, Mrs. Rebina Fuson, Mr. Thomas Bole, and Mrs. Lettie Larson all of Des Moines. Seven grand children, and many other relatives and loving friends also remain to miss her love.

The funeral was held at the United Presbyterian Church at Winterset at 11 A. M. Monday, December 8, 1930. The Reverend W. C. Porter, her pastor was in charge. The sermon was preached by the Reverend F. S. Westlake, the family pastor at Des Moines. Mrs. Hutchenpillar of Des Moines took the committal service at the grave.
