Wilson John Biggs was born near Warsaw, Indiana, May 29, 1843, and passed away at Winterset, Iowa, Friday night at 9 o’clock, May 2, 1930, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 5 days. When a young man, Mr. Biggs moved with his parents to Atkinson, Illinois, where he was married to Mary Emma West. In 1882 he moved to Des Moines with his wife and two children, a daughter, Bertha, and son, Ralph. After four years in Des Moines, he moved to a farm north of Winterset, and has lived near and in Winterset since. Two children, a daughter, Gertrude, and son, Clark, were born in Winterset. In 1900 he was married to Elizabeth Robinson, who passed away two years ago Thanksgiving day.
He is survived by two brothers, William Biggs, of Rock Island, Illinois, and Edward Biggs, of Chickasaw, Oklahoma, and three children, Mrs. Bertha Stout, of Des Moines, Ralph Biggs, of Chicago, and Clark Biggs, of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Adventist church, where he had been a member, with Elder V. G. Anderson, of Nevada, officiating.

Page 1Death of Wilson John Biggs
Wilson John Biggs, an aged resident of Winterset and Madison county, died here Friday night, May 2, at the age of 86 years. Had he lived until the 29th of May he would have been 87 years of age.
Mr. Biggs was afflicted with eye trouble early in life, and lost his sight several years ago. He had been in poor health for the last four or five years, but had been able to be up and around his room until a few weeks before his death.
Mr. Biggs is survived by two brothers, William Biggs, of Rock Island, and Edward Biggs of Chickasak (Chickasaw), Oklahoma, and three children: Mrs. Bertha Stout, of Des Moines; Ralph Biggs, of Chicago, and Clark Biggs, of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Adventist church, where he had been a member with Elder V. G. Anderson officiating; burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
