Elderly Lorimor Farmer Had Been Living Alone for Some Time
LORIMOR- Ivan Means, long-time resident of this community was found dead in his bed here Saturday by his son Curtis Means of Kellerton, who had arrived for a visit with his father.
Mr. Means, who was 82 years of age, had been living alone all though he had been in poor health for some time. On Saturday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Loy, his neighbors, stopped at the Means home to see if they could bring him anything from town. Unable to find any sign of activity around the house, they left to notify his son, Andrew Means, of Lorimor. While they were gone, the other son, Curtis arrived from Kellerton. Date of death was placed at Oct. 29.
Mr. Means was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, three years ago. In addition to Andrew and Curtis, he leaves three other sons, Lyle of Murray, Ralph of Creston and Lewis of Altoona; and two daughters, Mrs. Fern Burkheimer of Menlo and Mrs. Ada Denton of Lorimor.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church here Sunday in charge of the Rev. Mr. Shook and the Rev. Mr. Rowe. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
