JESSIE V. STICKLER

Jessie V. Stickler, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Stickler, was born at Winterset, Sept. 2, 1900 and passed away March 13, 1923 at the age of 22 years, 6 months, 11 days.

Her entire life was spent in and near Winterset until Oct. 1, 1922, when she moved to Des Moines, where she could obtain work for the support of her parents. She graduated from the Winterset high school in the class of 1919.

She was converted and united with the Methodist church at Winterset at the age of 18, and recently transferred her membership to the Trinity Methodist church at Des Moines. She was always more thoughtful of the welfare of others than of herself.

She was the light of the home and was always singing about the house, and in her passing away the home is left desolate and sad. Her place is vacant in the home and church. All that medical skill and loving hands could do was done for her during her week of serious illness at Mercy hospital.

There are left to mourn her departure besides her aged parents, one sister, Mrs. C. R. Serviss of Patterson, and four brothers: A. P. Stickler of Valley Junction and Chas., Walter and Harry Stickler, all of Des Moines; 13 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Valley Junction, and burial was made in Jordan cemetery.
