Edith Eldora Ballinger, the daughter of Phoebe and Mark Ballinger, was born September 4, 1863, near Redfield, Iowa, and departed this life at her home April 4, 1946 at the age of 82 years and seven months.

At the age of one year she moved with her parents near Linden, Iowa, and lived in that vicinity until two years ago when she moved to Earlham.

She was united in marriage to John C. Hodson, July 3, 1882 who preceded her in death 26 years ago. To this union two children, Alta and Charles were born.

September 4, 1929, she was married to Mr. E. M. Harden of Linden, who passed away two years later.

Early in life she was united with the Christian Church at Linden, of which she was still a member.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Alta Fenn of Earlham, and one son, Charles Hodson of Seattle, Washington, besides eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She had lived a healthy life until four weeks ago when she was confined to her bed, but without murmur or complaint.
