MRS. LENORE FOX DIED THURSDAY

Was Resident of Winterset for More Than Half Century

Mrs. Lenore Fox, a resident of Winterset for 53 years, died Thursday, May 29, after an extended period of failing health. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Fox was a daughter of Keziah and James McCloskey, and was born on a farm near St. Charles on Dec. 7, 1876. as a young woman she was a school teacher in Madison county. In 1899 she was married to Luther Fox, well known Winterset merchant, and her home had been in Winterset since that time.

She was a life-time member of the Methodist church, and was affiliated with the Eastern Star for more than half a century. She was also a charter member of the Winterset Woman’s club.

Mrs. Fox’s husband died two years ago. She leaves three children, Mrs. Ralph Peak of St. Charles, Mrs. Ralph Deboer of Denver, Colo., and Herbert Fox of Opportunity, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. A. B. McCleeary of Van Meter and Mrs. C. C. McCleeary of St. Charles; a brother, Kenneth McCloskey of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

Funeral services were held from the Winterset Methodist church Monday, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
