DEATH OF CHARLES A. McCLURG

Van Meter Special: Nov. 28

Charles A. McClurg fell dead Sunday morning while getting the cows at his farm southwest of Van Meter. Mr. McClurg had been in ill health for some time on account of heart trouble.

He was born near Waukee on July 28, 1881, and died November 26, 1939, at the age of 58 years of age.

In June, 1904 he was married to Caroline Alice Runciman. Three daughters and a son were born to their union.

Mr. McClurg lived the most of his life in this vicinity, and he and his family have been on their present farm twenty-two years.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Walter of Vinton, Mrs. Leota Hobbs of Des Moines, and Rose at home, a son Harold, a brother, Robert of Earlham and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Sheets of Ortonville, Mrs. Edith Heller of West Des Moines, and Mrs. Clyde Backus of Des Moines.

Funeral arrangements were not being completed until they hear from the son, Harold, who left on Thursday afternoon for California.
