On April 26, 1987, while residing at the Quality Health Care Center in Urbandale, Iowa, Ruby Lenore Mowell departed this life which began on May 22, 1920 in Earlham, Iowa. She was the daughter of Millard O. and Esther L. (McKibben) McCleary and they resided in Earlham until moving to Stuart in 1937.

After graduating from Stuart High School in 1938, Lenore was employed at the Earl Wise Creamery for nine years. Two years ago she retired from her position as business manager at Morrison Chevrolet in Stuart after working there for almost 25 years.

On April 10, 1949 she was married to Harold Mowell and they were blessed with one daughter, Pamela Ann.

Her church membership was in the First Congregational Church in Stuart, where she functioned in all aspects, including Women's Fellowship and choir. Lenore also actively served in the American Legion Auxiliary and P.E.O.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother, Herbert.

As a devoted, loving mother, she will be greatly missed by her daughter, Pam and her husband Jim Yates of Urbandale, Iowa; others surviving are her brother LaVere and his wife Marcella, of Dexter, Iowa and her beloved aunt, Nita McKibben of Stuart, Iowa; other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Congregational Church in Stuart, Iowa on April 29, 1987 with Rev. George Thurman officiating. Mrs. Wayne Miller provided the organ music. Caring for the floral tributes were Mrs. Mildred Ryan and Mrs. Enid Shirley. Casket bearers were Bill Kopaska, Wally Waddell, Mel Hauf, Jerry Vitzthum, Ed Shaw and Hank Morrison. Interment was in South Oak Grove Cemetery, Stuart, Iowa.
