Amy Allen, daughter of Mrs. Cora B. Allen, of Winterset, was born in Madison county, September 16, 1913. Her short life was practically spent in Winterset, where she attended school. The girl became a member of the Winterset Methodist church in 1925. Amy was married to David Faux in the summer of 1929, and until her illness lived at the Faux home near Patterson. On March 12th, she gave birth to her infant daughter, Fannie Belle. Both Mrs. Faux and her infant child passed away, March 30th; Mrs. Faux at the age of 16 years, 6 months and 14 days; and the baby at the age of 18 days.
Amy was blessed with a loving disposition, and was thoughtful of others. She had a special liking for children, this being shown especially in her care and interest for her deaf niece, whom she was able to understand better than others.
Besides her husband, David Faux, she leaves her mother, and brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Lillian Macumber, of Des Moines; Mrs. Vera Mullen, Mrs. Veda Owens, both of International Falls, Minnesota; Ray and Bernard Allen of Winterset; Kenneth Allen of Cedar Rapids and Sterling and Wilma Fay.
