DEATH OF FRANK McELROY

Frank McElroy, a long-time resident of Madison county and well known here, died Tuesday night at his home just north of Winterset. He was 67 years of age.

Mr. McElroy was a native of Mercy county, Ill., where he was born Sept. 2, 1871, the son of William and Bridget Rafferty McElroy.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed as the Madisonian went to press Wednesday.

Frank McElroy Dies At Age 68

Frank McElroy, 68, died suddenly at his home on the end of North Fourth avenue Tuesday evening. He had been a Winterset resident for the past 26 years.

McElroy was born in Mercer county, Illinois in 1871. He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1880 on a farm near Centerville. In 1881 he moved to Adair county and lived there 27 years, coming to Madison county where he settled on a farm four miles north of Lorimor. In 1913 he moved to Winterset where he has since lived.

His only survivor is his sister, Rosa. His father died in 1917 and his mother passed away in 1918. Funeral services will be held at nine a.m. today (Thursday) at Ramsey-Richards funeral home, the Rev. William Hahessy conducting. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
