Wednesday, July 24, 1940CRAWFORD FARMER DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS
O. P. Bickelhaupt Dies in Des Moines Hospital Monday
O. P. Bickelhaupt, Crawford township farmer, aged 67, died Monday in a Des Moines hospital. He had been failing in health for several months and became critically ill about ten days ago and was taken to Des Moines for an operation and hospital care.
Mr. Bickelhaupt came to this county about five years ago, operating the old Queen farm near Union Chapel, and later the Crossley farm in Crawford township.
Besides his wife, who was the former Ida Smith of Indianola, Ia., he leaves two brothers, Albert of Des Moines, and George of Silver Lake, Kansas. Also two sisters, Mrs. Ella Howell of Silver Lake, Kansas and Alice Moreland of Lewiston, Idaho.
Funeral services and burial were held at Indianola Wednesday afternoon.
