JAMES A. MILLS DIES HERE SUNDAY

Funeral Services Were Held Tuesday from Winterset Church of Christ

James A. Mills of Winterset died at the local hospital Sunday at the age of 72 years. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Mills was the son of Ephriam and Martha Mills, and was born May 4, 1867 in this county. His boyhood was spent in and around Winterset. He was married to Laura Jane Taylor on Feb. 17, 1891. She passed away on March 7, 1939.

In 1904 he moved his family to South Dakota, living there until 1916, then moving to Missouri and a short time later returning to Winterset. He spent many years recently as janitor of the North Ward school.

Mr. and Mrs. Mills were the parents of five children, two of them dying in infancy. He is survived by three children, LeRoy Mills of Inglewood, Cal., Cloyde Mills of Winterset, and Mrs. Goldie Rabe of Belmond; seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and six brothers and sisters, Garvin Mills of Osgood, Everette Mills of Newark, N. J., Mrs. Clara Penn of Winterset, Mrs. Ollie Clark of Talent, Oregon, Mrs. Isa Brown of LaMar, Colo., and Mrs. Lulu Holmes of Hensler, N. Dak.

Funeral services were held from the Winterset Church of Christ Tuesday in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Tom Foglesong. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Pall bearers were Will Johnson, Charles, Beeler, S. J. Warren, Ray DeBoer, Ed Benson and Raymond Vance.
