Death of Mardie Clopton

Miss Mardie Clopton, former Winterset resident died last Saturday at the Woodward state hospital. She was 47 years old. (d. Dec. 26, 1936).

Miss Clopton was the youngest daughter of Asbury and Mary (Wells) Clopton and born in Winterset on February 7, 1890. She lived and attended school in this community as long as her health would permit. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Wilda Jacobs and Charles Clopton of Boone and Mrs. Cora Van Hosen and Tom Clopton of Des Moines.

Private funeral services were held at the Woodward funeral home on Sunday and burial was made beside her parents in the Winterset cemetery.

Miss Marie Clopton Dies

Miss Mardie Clopton, 47, died at the Woodward state hospital December 26. Private services were held at a Woodward funeral home Sunday; burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

She was the youngest daughter of Asbury and Mary Clopton and was born in Winterset February 7, 1890. She attended North Ward school as long as health would permit.

Surviving are her sisters and brothers, Mrs. Wilda Jacobs and Charles Clopton of Boone; Mrs. Cora Van Hosen and Tom Clopton of Des Moines.
