Prominent Lincoln Township Farmer Victim of Heart Attack
Emory V. Callison, one of Madison county's most outstanding and influential farm leaders, died suddenly at his home in Lincoln township Saturday, the victim of a heart attack. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Callison had long been known as one of the substantial farmers of the community, enjoying a county-wide reputation and exerting considerable influence. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau and at the time of his death was treasurer of the county organization.
Mr. Callison was born in Fulton county, Illinois, on March 5, 1869, the son of Wood and Delilah Babbitt Callison. As a boy he came with his parents to Madison county. They settled on a farm in Lincoln township in the Ord community. Since that time his home had been in that community.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Callison is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, and three sons, Albert at home, Lloyd of Vinton, and Wilbur of Shenandoah. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. John Seiler and four brothers, A. W., J. R., and W. C. of this community and C. W. Callison of Eureka, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held from the Ord church at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) in charge of the Rev. Mr. Donahue of Milo. Burial will be made in the Clark cemetery.
