DEATH OF JOHN PETERS

Bevington Special, December 22.

The body of John Peters, who died at his home in Denver, Colorado, December 16, 1931, was brought to the home of his brother-in-law, T. F. Gallagher, one mile south of here last Saturday. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Church of the Assumption in Churchville, with interment in Calvary cemetery, Churchville. Mr. Peters was born September 22, 1861 in Virginia, Illinois, and came with his parents to Bevington when but a boy of eight years of age. He grew to manhood here and after his marriage to Mary E. Gallagher in 1885 engaged in business and farming in different parts of the state, until the year of 1918 when he moved to Denver. He had no children, but he and his wife educated several of their nieces and nephews. Mr. Peters was of a sunny disposition ever looking on the bright side of life.

Surviving members of his family besides his widow are three brothers and two sisters: Mrs. Sarah Wright of Des Moines; James Peters of Perry, T. H. Peters of Jamaica, Frank of LaPlata, Missouri and Mrs. Ella Anderson, who made her home with the deceased and wife in Denver. All were present at the funeral except Mrs. Anderson. The deceased was sick but two days and death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
