Death L. W. McKINLEY

L. W. McKinley, 43, of Osceola, former Winterset resident, died on the way to an Indianola hospital, Wednesday night, March 3rd, 1937, after an automobile collision on highway 69, south of the Polk county line. Mr. McKinley was formerly resident engineer with the Iowa State Highway commission, and was stationed in Winterset, about eight years ago. He was in similar work in Greenfield and for the past five years has been county engineer of Clarke county.

McKinley's car and one driven by Lyle H. Keast of Des Moines, collided head on in the fog, about a mile north of Scott's ridge in Warren county, early Wednesday evening. He suffered a crushed chest and bruised right leg. He failed to regain consciousness.

The body was taken to Osceola, and definite funeral arrangements had not been made yesterday afternoon.

He is survived by his wife, and one brother, Robert McKinley of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and a sister, Jane of St. Paul, Minnesota.
