February 13, 1914LILLIAN WESSLAND
On Sunday, at the home of William Wessland, occurred the death of his youngest daughter, Lillian, aged 11 years, 4 months and two days, after a lingering illness of many days with scarlet fever, which developed into pneumonia, and took away the baby and pride of the household.
All that tender care and medical aid could do were of no avail and on Sunday, at half past eleven, her fair young spirit went forth to meet its Maker, and be forever at rest.
To the devoted parents and loving brothers and sisters her death comes as a great blow, robbing the home of its idol, leaving hearts stricken and sad, but with the consoling thought, she is safe with her heavenly Father.
She was laid to rest in the little cemetery at Booneville, near the home of her parents, where her short, happy life was spent.
