MRS. MARTIN GAVIN OF BEVINGTON DIES

Well-Known Resident Died at Her Home Saturday After Three Weeks Illness

Bevington--(Special)--Jan. 25.

Mrs. Martin Gavin, life-long resident of this community died at her home, southeast of Bevington, Saturday morning, January 23rd, at the age of 47 years. Mrs. Gavin became ill with influenza, three weeks ago. Two weeks later peritonitis developed, and caused her death, early Saturday.

Mrs. Gavin, who was the former Miss Agnes Gallagher, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Gallagher, and was born near Bevington, February 3, 1889. She spent her girlhood there, and was married to Mr. Gavin, nineteen years ago. They went to housekeeping on a farm near here, and lived there until a year ago, when they moved to a farm south of Martensdale.

The deceased is survived by her husband, and their three children: Alice and Albert, who are high school students, and Agnes, aged two years. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. D. Gallagher, who lives at Bevington, but is spending the winter in Los Angeles, California; five brothers and three sisters: James of Anoka, South Dakota, Michael of Bevington, W. D. Gallagher of Perry, Tom of Los Angeles, California, and Frank Gallagher of Churchville; Mrs. George Hall of Bevington, Mrs. John Gavin of Oakland, Iowa, and Mrs. Frank Ellis of Omaha. Her father died forty years ago, and this has been the first death in the family since then.

Requiem high mass will be held for Mrs. Gavin at the Church of The Assumption, at Churchville, at ten o'clock this morning and burial will be at the Calvary cemetery there.
