Thursday, May 28, 1936DEATH OF EARL FELTON
A lingering illness of almost two years ended in the death of Earl Felton, May 21 at his home in Peru. He was 61 years of age.
The deceased was the son of John B. and Rhoda Jones Felton, and was born July 16, 1874, at New Virginia. He received his education in the schools of that town, and subsequently has spent his life farming in Warren and Madison counties. He moved to Madison county 21 years ago.
On November 28, 1895, he was married to Miss Lucinda Bryant. They were the parents of five children, one of whom died in infancy. Early in life he was united with the Methodist church, with which he maintained a life-long affiliation, having been a member of the congregations at New Virginia, St. Charles, and Peru.
He is survived by his widow; one son, John B. Felton of Des Moines; three daughters, Neola Silliman of Peru; Neva McKibben of Winterset and Pauline Rippey of Leon; two brothers, Pearl and Carl Felton of New Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Bishoff if Indianola and Mrs. Voss Braucht of Des Moines; in addition to eight grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Peru Methodist church Sunday in charge of the Rev. E. L. Patterson. Burial was made at New Virginia.
