DEATH OF EARL EYERLY

Ill Health and Worry Cause of Self Inflicted Death; Was Well Known Here

Earl Eyerly of Indianola died March 26 of a self inflicted bullet wound through the head, while at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Chester Wright at Ackworth. Mr. Eyerly was a native of Madison county and was well known here, where he spent the greater part of his life. He was 55 years old.

Despondency over financial matters was ascribed as the reason for Eyerly's suicide. He was found by his son-in-law, Chester Wright, a few minutes after having fired the fatal shot.

Mr. Eyerly was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Eyerly and was born and reared near Winterset. About 10 years ago he moved to Indianola. At various times he also lived at Milo and Liberty Center.

Mr. Eyerly is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Wright of Ackworth, Mrs. John Burt of Thayer; and Helen and Dorothy Eyerly of Indianola; two sons, Elwin and Jackie Eyerly of Indianola and a number of brothers and other near relatives living in or near Winterset.

The funeral was held Thursday, March 28, at Indianola in charge of the Rev. C. Hugo Orf of Milo.
