OSCAR FREDRICKSON DIED LAST SATURDAY

Leading Citizen of Walnut Township Dies at Age of 67 Years

Oscar Fredrickson, for many years one of Walnut township's leading citizens, died last Saturday at his home near Peru. He was 67 years of age, and had been in failing health for several months.

Mr. Frederickson was born near Dexter on Dec. 26, 1871, the son of George and Mary Fredrickson. He was united in marriage to Callie E. Macumber on Dec. 24, 1896. For the first five years of their marriage they lived on a farm north of Winterset, then moving to Peru where they had since resided.

Mr. Fredrickson was a member of the Lutheran church near Dexter since childhood. He had been a member of the Hazel lodge, A.F. and A.M., for the past 29 years, of which he had served as master for three years, and as secretary for six years.

He is survived by his wife; five children, Mrs. Marie Emerson, Mrs. Lenore Ruth and Russell and DeVern Fredrickson of Peru, and Mrs. Dolores Stevens of Lorimor. He also leaves a brother, John Fredrickson of Winterset, and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset Monday, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
