J. M. MELROY DIES

Bevington (Special), Nov. 17

J. M. Melroy, aged 56 years, died at his home here Monday, November 15, at 11:30 a.m. of angina pectoris. He was stricken while at work about a mile from home last Saturday, and died three days later.

Funeral services were held in Churchville Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. P. J. Casey. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery at Churchville.

Besides his widow, he leaves two sons, Duane of Denver and Dale at home.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Edwin Smith of Des Moines, Tom Melroy of Davenport, Edward and John Melroy of Winterset, John Melroy of Norton, Kan., and Leo Powers of Springhill.

SERVICES ARE HELD FOR J. M. MELROY

Funeral services for J. M. Melroy of Bevington, who died November 15 were held Wednesday morning, November 18, at the Church of Assumption in Churchville by the pastor, the Rev. P. J. Casey. Requiem mass was said at nine o'clock. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Churchville.

Mr. Melroy who was 56, died about eleven a. m. of angina pectoris. He became ill two days before his death, stricken while at work about a mile from his home. He had previously been in good health.

Mr. Melroy had lived in Crawford township practically all his life. The youngest in a family of 11 children of Thomas and Margaret Melroy, he was born March 3, 1881. His marriage to Margaret Burke took place February 27, 1900. He leaves his wife and two sons, Duane of Denver, Colorado, and Dale at home, a sister, Mrs. W. J Smith of Churchville; and six brothers, Peter, Dominic and William of Bevington, Jack of Council Bluffs; Thomas of Norton, Kansas, and Michael of Topeka, Kansas.

Pallbearers were his nephews, Edward and John Melroy of Winterset; Thomas Melroy of Davenport; John Melroy of Norton, Kansas. Edwin Smith of Des Moines and Leo Powers of Springhill.
