Wednesday December 6, 1939Harry Earl Adams, a life-long resident of Winterset, died at the state hospital in Iowa City last Friday. He had been afflicted with stomach ulcers for some time, and on Thanksgiving day was taken critically ill. He was rushed to Iowa City and submitted to an operation, which he failed to survive and died the next day.
Mr. Adams was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Buell Adams, and was born at Winterset on May 18, 1885. His first wife was Elizabeth Thornburg, who, with an infant daughter, died in 1918. On May 4, 1927, he was married to Ollie Orris, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his mother; four brothers, Sidney Adams of Winterset, Clyde Adams of Creston, Glen Adams of Corning, and Robert Adams of Bakersfield, Kan.; and two sisters, Mrs. Elbert Stron of Winterset and Mrs. Glen Wiley of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held from Anderson's Home for Funerals Sunday, in charge of the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
