R. W. Matheny, bookkeeper of Mills Motor company, was called to Indianola last week by the serious illness and death of his mother, Mrs. Jennie Matheny. Mrs. Matheny had been ill for over a year and she died Friday evening, December 13th. Mrs. Matheny formerly lived in Winterset, when her husband, the late R. W. Matheny, was pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mrs. Matheny had lived in Indianola, since the death of her husband, seventeen years ago.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Overton funeral home, in Indianola, and burial was made in the Indianola cemetery.
Mrs. Matheny leaves two sons, Raymond, of Winterset, and A. R. Matheny, of Seattle, Washington; two brothers, J. P. Wilson, of Knoxville, and W. A. Wilson, of Columbia; and a sister, Mrs. Paul Eggert, of Creston.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills, of Winterset, drove to Indianola Monday, to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Matheny. Mr. Matheny returned to his work here Wednesday.
