Death Came Saturday at Her Home There, Ending Long Illness
Mrs. Roy Hall, 52 year old resident of Truro, died at her home Saturday, December 30 after an extended illness. Mrs. Hall had spent her entire life in this community.
She was the former Jennie Victoria Alcox, daughter of William and Melvina Alcox. She was born near St. Charles, July 20, 1887, and joined the Methodist church when a young woman.
On March 18, 1912 she was married to Mr. Hall at Osceola.
She is survived by her husband and their three daughters: Mrs. Ruth Chatfield of Truro, Mrs. Edna Kimler of Newton and Mrs. Reva Hicks of Fritch, Texas, three step children: Nydia Hall of Des Moines, Floyd Hall of Cumming and Mrs. Gordon McDaniel of Martensdale. She also leaves seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, and three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Lula Neal of Winterset, Mrs. Venice Archer of Ackley, Minn., Warren Alcox of Lathrop, Mo., and Art Alcox of St. Charles.
Funeral services were held at the Kale funeral home Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Marguerite Shepherd, assisted by the Rev. Clayton Shepard. Burial was in the Worthington cemetery.
